Updated:2022年3月7日更新 print

On March 5, the opening ceremony of the Stanford e-Fukuoka program (*) was held online.

The opening ceremony was attended by John Taylor, Principal Officer, U.S. Consulate Fukuoka, Yuki Kondo-Shah, Public Affairs Officer, Gary Mukai, SPICE Director, Stanford University, Kasumi Yamashita, SPICE Instructor, and high school students participating in the program.

In his address, the Governor stated: “This program is a valuable opportunity for you to try what you cannot experience at school. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes, but engage in discussions with your fellows actively and take on challenges. I sincerely hope that this program will enable you to become aware of your potential, develop your abilities, take on challenges to realize your dreams, and spread your wings around the world.”

* Arranged by an English cross-cultural educational program developed and operated by Stanford University in the U.S. for Japanese high school students, this program has been tailored to meet the specifications of Fukuoka in cooperation with the U.S. Consulate Fukuoka.
