Replicas of national treasures and a diorama of tumulus clusters created with the latest technology are displayed at the Sea Road Munakata Museum.

  The museum, a guidance center for the World Heritage Site “Sacred Island of Okinoshima and Associated Sites in the Munakata Region,” offers new exhibitions: "Changes in ancient rituals" and "Exchanges between the island and ancient East Asia".

  The latest technology allowed producing accurate replicas of offerings excavated from Okinoshima and a diorama of tumulus clusters representing their original appearance at the time they were built.

  The tangible replicas of ancient mirrors and gold rings will attract all visitors and help them understand the value of the heritage site.

1. 1. New exhibitions

   - Replicas of offerings discovered on Okinoshima. These replicas are tangible.

   -A diorama of Shinbaru-Nuyama tumulus clusters has been created with 3D data from aerial surveys and excavation survey results obtained so far. Their original appearance is exactly reproduced.
