Located on the B-1 floor of the Fukuoka prefectural office, the remodeled cafeteria reopened with a new name, Kencho Food Marche, on March 1, 2021.
The restaurant has been transformed into a bright and large open place where locally grown wood is used for the interior. It also has a new food menu, including, for example, healthy dishes developed with students of the Department of Food and Health Sciences at Fukuoka Women’s University and meals using locally grown products to encourage local consumption. Everybody is welcome, so please come and enjoy the food!

Overview

Restaurant name: Kencho Food Marche
Food Marche means a food market. The new name includes the idea that this restaurant will become a lively place like a food market where a lot of food is displayed and people gather.
Contractor: Royal Contract Service Co., Ltd. (ROYAL Group)
Business hours: 11:00 to 14:00 (Last orders: 13:30)
* The cafeteria is open from 9:00 to 17:00
Capacity: Approximately 360 seats
* For the present, the number of seats have been reduced to help prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus.

Features

(1) We share information on promoting good health, “Local Production for Local Consumption” (to use locally grown products to encourage local consumption), food education, and more!

By using vegetables and reducing salt, we create healthy menu items, as well as other healthy meals using locally grown seasonal products.
We provide useful information on promoting good health and improving dietary habits, and hold health-related events.

(2) We offer opportunities to discover the appeal of local wood and traditional crafts!

Locally grown wood has been selected for the redesigned interior and tables. In cooperation with “Fukuoka Yokamon Hiroba” (an exhibition floor of traditional crafts and products of Fukuoka), we display traditional crafts.

(3) The cafeteria is open to the public!

The restaurant area is open during non-business hours, so staff and visitors can use the space freely.

Menu

There are three daily specials (two healthy menu items and a “Local Production for Local Consumption” menu item).
We offer arranged menu items (e.g., “Fukuoka healthy menu” and “Healthy menu using products of Fukuoka”) and meals developed with students of Fukuoka Women’s University. Our menu is updated regularly.
In the third week of every month, special menu items are provided; for example, dishes featuring wild game, and international cuisine such as Vietnamese. We will introduce food from different countries that are closely connected with Fukuoka prefecture.
