Bangkok Metropolitan Region Delegation commemorating the 15th anniversary of the Fukuoka Prefecture-Bangkok Metropolitan Administration friendship partnership visits Fukuoka Prefecture
Since Fukuoka Prefecture and Bangkok Metropolitan Administration concluded a friendship partnership in 2006, they have deepened exchanges in areas such as the economy, the environment, and youth development, and 2021 marked the 15th anniversary of the friendship partnership.
In January of this year, a delegation including the Governor visited Bangkok Metropolitan Region and signed a memorandum of understanding with Governor Chadchart to further strengthen the friendly and cooperative relationship.
A delegation led by Governor Chadchart visited Fukuoka Prefecture from August 22 to 24, and in addition to paying a courtesy visit to the Governor of Fukuoka and having a tea party at a Japanese garden, they also participated in the opening ceremony of Thailand Bangkok Fair.

Courtesy visit to the Governor
A delegation from Bangkok paid a courtesy visit to the Governor, and the two Governors exchanged opinions regarding future exchanges.
The Governor suggested, “In order to create human resources with entrepreneurship, as a new initiative, we will conduct mutual exchanges with university students and working adults in cutting-edge technology fields such as AI, IoT, and ICT, and promote internships at companies in the prefecture.”
Governor Chadchart said, “Bangkok has many friendship partners, but Fukuoka Prefecture has the most extensive track record in exchange projects. This is my first visit to a friendly partner since taking office as Governor," he said, agreeing on the importance of human resource development and innovation, and vowing to further strengthen the friendly relationship between both parties.

The Governor held a tea ceremony in the Japanese garden of Ohori Park and entertained the Bangkok Delegation with traditional Japanese culture.

Opening ceremony of Thai-Bangkok Fair, commemorating the 15th anniversary of the friendship ties between Fukuoka Prefecture and Bangkok Metropolitan Administration
The opening ceremony of the Thai-Bangkok Fair, commemorating the 15th anniversary of the friendship ties between Fukuoka Prefecture and Bangkok Metropolitan Administration was held at JR Hakata Station Square, and in addition to the Bangkok Delegation, guests including Makoto Sasaki, Vice Chairman of the Fukuoka Prefectural Assembly, and with the participation of many members of the general public.
The Governor gave his greeting by saying, “I hope that visitors will enjoy the charm of Bangkok, Thailand, with traditional Thai dance and Muay Thai shows, as well as delicious Thai food and handicrafts for sale.”
