New style of traditional crafts! "Mountain x Manufacturing Project"

The production of traditional crafts nationwide has been declining since peaking around the mid-1970s to the mid-1980s, and it is also on a downward trend in this prefecture. In order to increase the sales of traditional crafts in this prefecture, whose production is declining, it is necessary to develop products that new generations will want to purchase and cultivate sales channels.

For this reason, since FY2019, the prefecture has supported the development of new products in collaboration with traditional craft producers and companies that are popular for their design and quality and have a wide range of sales channels both inside and outside the prefecture.

This time, in collaboration with traditional craftspersons of Hakata dolls, Yame Fukushima Buddhist altars and Yame lanterns, the three companies of Unagi no Nedoko, which proposes traditional crafts to suit modern life, TIMELESS, which handles product planning and branding of traditional crafts, and YAMAP, which develops business that is close to the lives of people who love mountaineering and nature, have developed new products for outdoor use that utilize the techniques and beauty of traditional crafts and embody Japanese craftsmanship with a mountain theme.
