A world-famous YouTuber shows off Fukuoka's 'food' attractions!
Sonny Side, a world-famous YouTuber, was invited to visit Fukuoka Prefecture in September to cover the prefecture's 'yatai' (food cart) culture. This video coverage was published on his YouTube channel "Best Ever Food Review Show" on 08 December, and it has already exceeded 1.2 million views!

The video's theme is 'Fukuoka, the city of Yatai.' With a cozy 'at-home' atmosphere, the video quickly acquaints even unfamiliar viewers with the colorful shop curtains that line the lively townscape of food carts, and the delicious flavors of local foods such as oden, hitokuchi gyoza (dumplings), and tonsoku (pig's feet).
In the shooting of the video, three food stalls were covered. At one of these stores, a "Wild Game Yatai", the video closely covers one day in the shopowner's life, showing everything from ingredient preparation to sales. From beginning to end, Sonny was highly interested in game cuisine such as 'venison oden', saying that 'Wild game is an international rarity, valuable for attracting overseas tourists.'

The radar microsatellite "Izanagi" takes off into space
On 11 December, iQPS Inc. (a space venture of Kyushu University) successfully launched 'Izanagi', a radar microsatellite with world-class performance. The body of this man-made satellite was developed and manufactured through the collected efforts of 16 small-to-medium-sized businesses etc. within the prefecture. The satellite's control system utilizes the programming language 'mruby (lightweight Ruby)' which was developed in Fukuoka Prefecture, making the satellite a true 'gem' of engineering that Fukuoka Prefecture takes pride in.
On the date of the launch a public viewing was held at the prefectural office. Around 500 people gathered for the viewing, with loud cheers filling the venue at the moment of the successful launch.
iQPS Inc. will be launching a total of 36 man-made satellites in the next 4-5 years, aiming for to create a system that can observe the Earth's surface approximately every 10 minutes, regardless of weather or time of day, anywhere in the world, and they plan to launch their second satellite "Izanami" in the first half of 2020.
The prefecture is proceeding with consideration regarding plans for expanding the potential of space-related businesses.
