Issuing of the Fukuoka Corona Alert(As of July 6)

Updated:2022年7月6日更新 print

slide1

The number of new cases has been on the rise since late June, with a 7-day average showing that the number of new cases has almost doubled from about 642 on June 18 to about 1,313 on July 5.

With the three-day weekend in July and summer holidays coming up, increased human contact is expected. Since the spread of infection could increase the burden on medical institutions, we issued the Fukuoka Corona Alert on July 6, based on expert opinions and consultations with municipalities, to ask prefectural residents and businesses to thoroughly implement infection prevention measures.

Request to Prefectural Residents

After the Fukuoka Corona Alert was lifted on May 31, prefectural residents and businesses have been working to prevent the spread of infection, and we ask again for your understanding and cooperation on the following points upon the issuance of the Fukuoka Corona Alert.

We ask once again that all people, including those who have been vaccinated, take thoroughgoing basic infection prevention measures such as avoiding the three C’s, hand washing and other hand hygiene, wearing masks and other hand hygiene, and ventilation. If you have symptoms such as fever, please avoid going out and seek medical attention. In particular, avoid contact with people at high risk of serious illness, such as the elderly.

Note that masks are not required to be worn outdoors when people can be a reasonable distance away from each other due to the increased risk of heatstroke.

slide4

We ask that the elderly and others who have been vaccinated five months after the third vaccination consider receiving the fourth vaccination as soon as possible. We also recommend that those who have not yet received the third dose of the vaccine also consider receiving it as soon as possible.

Those who are concerned about infection are encouraged to take advantage of the free testing currently available at 563 locations throughout the prefecture.

When dining out, please choose restaurants that have thorough infection prevention measures in place, including restaurants with infection prevention certification.
