Opening of “Work in Kyushu”, a matching site that connects companies in Kyushu to international students

A dedicated personnel-matching site that connects companies in Kyushu with international students studying in Kyushu, "Work in Kyushu", has been opened. At this site, visitors can search job offers/recruitment information, and students can record and post their own promotional videos in order to show off their talents and appeal to companies.
Additionally, the site contains a variety of information for students, such as tips and tricks for job hunting as an international student, information about required procedures for changing residence status when employing international students, support messages from former international students who are now employed, and much more.

Fukuoka/Hawaii Sister State 35th Anniversary Project

In 1981, Fukuoka Prefecture formed a sister-state agreement with the USA state of Hawaii. Shortly after this in 1982, the governments of Fukuoka Prefecture and Hawaii entered into an agreement to promote friendly relationships between the two states. 2017 marks the 35th year of this event.
Additionally, Hawaii is the first area to which Fukuoka Prefecture residents relocated overseas. At present, there are four associations of people from Fukuoka Prefecture in the state of Hawaii, composed of people who moved to Hawaii from Fukuoka Prefecture as well as their children and grandchildren. Among these associations, 3 of them are celebrating anniversaries this year.
To commemorate this, from January 17th - 24th, a group of visitors including the Fukuoka Prefecture governor and prefectural assembly president will be visiting Hawaii to attend a Sister State 35th Year Anniversary and Prefectural Assocation Anniversary Ceremony. In addition to this, promotions of Fukuoka's food, traditional crafts, and culture performances will be held at the Consulate General of Japan and local shopping centers as PR for Fukuoka Prefecture.
