Tianjin Airlines Kitakyushu-Dalian Flight Commemoration Ceremony

Marking the beginning of the direct flight between Kitakyushu and Dalian by Tianjin Airlines of China, the Kitakyushu-Dalian Flight Commemoration Ceremony was held on October 30th at Kitakyushu Airport. The route is now available on Thursdays and Sundays, twice a week, for both ways.
Take this advantage of this opportunity and access to/from Kitakyushu Airport.

Japan-Korea Strait Coastal Region Governors' Conference

Annually held since 1993, Japan-Korea Strait Coastal Region Governors' Conference aims to deepen the relationship among the governing bodies of Fukuoka, Yamaguchi, Saga, Nagasaki Prefectures, the City of Busan, South Jeolla, South Gyeongsang, and Jeju Provinces all sharing this particular maritime zone. It was held on October 20th in Jeju this year for the administrators and government officials of fishing industry from both countries. The attendants collectively released seedlings into the waters as a part of the program aiming to preserve and to expand the fishery in the Straits.

Worldwide Fukuoka Kenjinkai Convention (Worldwide Convention for the Overseas Fukuoka Prefecture Citizens Association)

Fukuoka Kenjinkai, or the Overseas Fukuoka Prefecture Citizens Association, is found in 21 countries and 37 unique locations throughout the world. The Association serves as a valuable asset to the Prefecture as it is a bridge connecting Fukuoka with each and every region and nation it represents. Worldwide Fukuoka Kenjinkai Convention was held on October 15th and 16th in Mexico City this year, as it brought all existing branches together to one location. The Convention provided members with a great opportunity to dialog and discuss with one another on various topics such as further developing the Association and training the next generation of successors.

Norway picks Fukuoka as its pre-game training camp site for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Norway has selected with Fukuoka Prefecture and Kumamoto Prefecture as its pre-game training camp sites for the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics. The agreement was signed and was announced on October 10th in Fukuoka City. The Norwegians would make the second one for Fukuoka following the last year's precedent with Sweden. The Prefecture will continue its effort to promote the region by working together with local bodies willing to host such camps in the near future.
