Tokyo Girls Collection in Kitakyushu 2015

Held on October 17th in Kitakyushu is one of Japan's leading fashion events – Tokyo Girls Collection (or TGC). With over 10,000 in attendance, the event's runway walk featured a number of top fashion models from Japan including Mirei Kiritani, who sported Fukuoka's traditional Hakata-ori and Kurume-gasuri kimonos.

The Kyushu National Museum: 10th Anniversary

October this year marked the 10th anniversary of the Kyushu National Museum in Dazaifu, Fukuoka Prefecture, which opened as the fourth national museum in the country. Commemorating this milestone, the museum brought in a high volume of visitors as they held a special event titled "Japan, Country of Beauty" from the 18th of October to the 29th of November. Renowned for its stylistic presentation as well as inviting and elaborate delivery, the public's anticipation builds for the museum as it continues to aim to the cultural and international hub for the rest of Asia.

The 24th Annual Japan-Korea Strait Governor Meeting

The 24th Annual Japan-Korea Strait Governor Meeting was held on October 12th in Karatsu City, Saga Prefecture. Each of the attending governors and mayors from eight of the surrounding regions gave a presentation on undertakings in his/her home country to promote internationalism through athletics. Fukuoka Governor Ogawa's speech shed light on the popularity of athletic activities among the citizens of Fukuoka. He also mentioned the prefecture's engagement with Clinics for Future Athletes of Fukuoka Prefecture, which aims to produce world-class athletes from within, and other unique undertakings to paint a clearer picture of the state Fukuoka is engaged in cross-cultural internationalism beyond the border.
