Hydrogen Energy Test and Research Center - New Test Wing Completion Ceremony(April 22nd, 2014)

For making hydrogen-based society a reality:
Expecting a much higher demand in the near future, Fukuoka Prefecture has been aiming to promote localization and further development of hydrogen-energy/fuel-cell industry through their industry-academia-government collaboration entity of Fukuoka Strategy Conference for Hydrogen Energy.
April 22nd marked the completion of the large tank for their hydrogen station at the Hydrogen Energy Test and Research Center (or HyTRec). Such tanks have been available only outside of Japan until now, thus making the Center one of the world's most-comprehensive and best-equipped testing facilities with ability to examine nearly all types of metal hydride tanks and to be able to operate the likes of those being utilized in fuel-cell vehicles and hydrogen stations.
The Prefecture will continue its effort to bringing FCVs available to the market by the year 2015 through further developing necessary infrastructure, advanced technologies, consumer products, cost-reducing strategies, as well as standardizing the use of FCVs in the public and the equipment of the facility.
