A 'Yamecha' Tea Pairing Event Held in Hong Kong

In anticipation of the Tokyo Olympics, a pre-training camp has been established in Kurume for the use of the Kenyan Olympic team!

On the 23rd of August, in Kurume City, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed. This was done so as to facilitate a pre-training camp for the Kenyan Olympic team ahead of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Visitors to Kurume will thus be able to see some world-class track and field / long distance athletes. The whole of Fukuoka Prefecture is behind Kurume in offering their support to help the Kenyan athletes perform at their best.


A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Republic of Kenya, and Kurume City in Fukuoka Prefecture.

A 'Yamecha' Tea Pairing Event Held in Hong Kong

On August the 21st, a tea pairing event will be held at 'The Peninsula Hong Kong', one of Hong Kong's most prestigious hotels. The event will feature 'Yamecha', a kind of green tea produced in Fukuoka Prefecture that is considered one of Japan's leading beverages. At this event, hotel chefs will invent dishes designed to complement the flavor of the brew. Moreover, visitors will have the opportunity to mingle with Hong Kong cuisine experts while learning more about the attractions of Yamecha tea. At the venue, visitors will be treated to exemplary food served with varieties of Yamecha such as Sencha, Gyokuro and Hōji tea.

 



At this venue, a variety of dishes were made using Fukuoka's finest produce and ingredients. When they were combined with Yamacha green tea, a fun time was had by all.
